Game Log 3: Imagine


For this section of the game's development, we created a functional mockup of the game, including most of the visuals and dialogue, and some general music (we intended to add more sound effects in a later stage), which we then playtest with the help of someone unfamiliar with our game. Based on their feedback, we were able to better identify what aspects in the game's function and legibility we needed to refine/edit. One of the most important of these edits was in the very beginning, where the player is asked to add a house to the painting. Our mockup's UI was unclear on how the player is supposed to do this, and created some frustration and confusion. We decided that a stronger visual cue such as a background like we used in the text-box, might solve this issue, as the house icon was easily lost in its surroundings. 

Other suggests for changes were the addition of audio cues, and specifically the audio of the baby/child crying.
