Game Log 4: Create
Our primary method for creating the story, which was essential for determining our production of assets and building the mechanics of the game, was storyboarding (see attached image). Because the visuals and soundscape of the game is dependent on player choices, we needed to figure out how to make sure that changes were consistent with the progression of the story, even if the player opted to follow a different path. We didn't want to lock the player into a single path, but because of the cumulative effect of their choices, we needed to find a way to account for all the different options. Thus, storyboarding was a useful tool for visualizing each choice and its consequences. This was the basic framework that we used to build the game and story.
